Technical Sales Support

Edmonton, Alberta - Canada

Primary Responsibilities

  • Receives (by telephone, fax or email), purchase orders, order changes, request for quotes and cancellations directly from domestic customers and R. STAHL Ltd. Sales Representatives.
  • Achieves and maintains rapport with customers and works to give them the best possible service.
  • Works closely with the Application Engineers to provide customers with technical support and solutions on electrical equipment & Intrinsic Safety products.
  • Uses Navision to enter customer purchase orders, quotes, retrieve customer information, stock status information, the status of purchase orders and any other pertinent information the customer may require.
  • Works closely with production regarding deliveries of scheduled shipments.
  • Maintains files of active orders, closed orders, quotes, credit information and changes that have been made to orders.
  • Enters RMA’s for products to be returned by the customers.
  • Answers technical questions that are outside the scope of normal product sales questions but do not require application engineering involvement.
  • Tracks the production process on technical orders that may become entangled in the production department for various reasons.
  • Works Closely with the Accounting department on any credit problems and any invoicing issues.
  • Shipping and Receiving of all orders
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Associates Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Technology
  • Certificate of completion from ITT Technical Institute or similar institute or school of higher learning
  • Equivalent experience with a competitor
  • Bilingual 
  • Min. 1-2 years experience in a customer service position and with technical service offering.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Customer focused attitude.
  • Proficiency in office management software (MS Office).
  • High degree of professionalism.
  • Reading design specifications and technical drawings.
  • Ability to assist customers developing requirements and statements of work.
  • Ability of handling projects and to work alongside others in a team.
  • Proven ability to operate under pressure
